Day three baby !!
I just want to clear the air real quick. People think wearing your hair natural is an excuse for insufficient funds. Hair bundles and salon services can be costly, but natural hair products are as well. A whole wash day costs an arm and a leg, not to mention, those limbs can be used up in one sitting. Idioms aside, I want to share some of the products that I have tried on my low porosity hair.
Let’s start with some conditioners:

Idioms aside, I want to share some of the products that I have tried on my low porosity hair.
Let’s start with some conditioners:

(Starting from top left to right)
1. Etae conditioner : This one is on the pricey side, running about $19 per bottle. They have sales of 25% off every now and then. I love using this conditioner in conjunction with their shampoo and caramel treatment. I only do that when I plan on straightening my hair though. This gets my hair really straight! You can order this online. They also have a store listings on the website.
2. Trader Joe’s: This conditioner is my go to. It goes for $3.99 and it’s all natural! Can’t beat it. It’s really moisturizing and the Tea Tree helps with an itchy scalp!
3. Kinky Curly Knot Today: I like this conditioner, especially when it’s used with the curling custard. It’s very moisturizing. The price varies but I believe I paid around $11.99 for my bottle. They have it Walmart, Target, Walgreens etc.
4. Giovanni: This was the first conditioner I used when I decided to go natural. It moisturizes very well. It costs about $9- $10 a bottle. You can find this at Walmart and Whole Foods. Whole Foods runs sales on their products often.
5. Renewed Queen Hair products: this conditioner is paraben, sulfate, and silicone free. All natural baby! It’s very moisturizing and leaves your hair feeling soft. It runs around $13 a bottle and can be purchased on the Renewed Queen Hair website.
6. Camille Rose: I enjoyed using this product. It smelled great and my hair was moisturized after deep conditioning with it. I like using it with the Camille Rose curl maker. I found mine at Walmart. I believe I purchase it for about $11.
7. Curls Tea Conditioner: I found this one on sale at my local beauty supply. It was around $4. I believe it says to heat this conditioner, which I did while it was in my hair. It was moisturizing but it left white specs in my hair.
On to the gels :
1. Kinky Curly Curling Custard: This is one of my favorites. A little goes a long way. When my hair dries, it still feels so moisturized. My curls are not stiff or dry. I love it! It was great for my wash n go’s. It’s expensive though. For a small jar, you’re looking at $16. Target had a sale one time for $12. Walgreens also runs sales like buy two get one free. This has been around for some time so your local beauty supply may have it.
2. Camille Rose : This gel is about $20 a bottle. I think it’s worth the price though. It’s all natural and still feels like gel. It’s smells good as well. It was a great ending to my wash n go and my curls were juicy. You can find it at Walmart.
3. Giovanni: This gel is all natural. It has great hold and its lightweight. That’s a plus. I got mine at Whole Foods. The original price is around $9. Whole Foods will sometimes reduce the price to $6. It’s hard to find. Walgreens may have it locally but it’s definitely on their website.
4. Eco Styler Gel: I don’t know about y’all but I don’t have no beef with ol’ boy. This was one of the first gels I ever used on my hair. I don’t use it for wash n go’s. I mainly use it to slick my hair down. It holds so well. The price varies between $2- $5. I’m sure you have seen this everywhere. If not, you can find it just about anywhere there’s ethnic hair care.
5. Uncle Funky’s daughter: Don’t let the name throw you off. This is some good stuff. I love the consistency. My wash n go was so beautiful with this gel. It’s about $15 per bottle and you get a good amount. Walgreens also has this product.
6. TGIN Curl Bomb: Another all natural hair gel. I use it for wash n go’s. It’s moisturizing and the consistency is thicker, which I like. It does not leave your hair crunchy.
Shampoos:
(Left-Right)
1.Giovanni: I like this shampoo. It cleans well but be sure to deep conditioner right after. I found it at Whole Foods for around $7.
2. Isoplus: I do not shampoo often. I use this after a protein treatment. It’s good to use after chemical treatments to neutralize the pH of your hair. You can find this at any beauty supply store.
There’s a slew of products I still have to try. For now, these are some products I enjoy using. Please comment your thoughts below! Thanks for reading. Have a blessed day!
